Experienced, Informed, Involved
Elected to the Manchester School Board in November 2014, Rebecca began her term in January of 2015. She moved to Michigan in 1994 to attend undergrad at the University of Michigan followed by law school at Michigan State University.
Rebecca has lived in Manchester since 2004, but her husband is a lifetime resident of Manchester and a second-generation graduate of Manchester schools! They married in 2005 and now have three children who, like their father before them, are students in our incredible school district.
A practicing attorney and small business owner, Rebecca has run Harvey Law, PLLC in Manchester since 2006. She is also an active member of the Manchester Community Fair since 2005 and currently serves as its Director.
MY PRIORITIES
Quality Education
Our district vision is: “Manchester Students are provided the stepping stones for success.”
Our motto is: "Great Education Made Personal"
We need to do better ensuring that we're educating Manchester students up to and beyond their potential. They should be exhibiting growth and experiencing personal achievements in order to be prepared for their post-graduation life.
Board Accountability
Elected officials are accountable to you and our community. You should be able to trust that we're doing our jobs and doing them well. Established Policies & Procedures are how you set expectations for us and what you use to hold us accountable.
Board Policy exists by law and for the benefit of the electorate and the families in our school district. I commit to knowing, understanding, and following Manchester School Board Policy. With your help, I will work to establish a Board Operating Procedure manual that further clarifies the work and how it's accomplished - your faith in Board process is important to me.
Board Business
I believe that the Board is elected to accomplish specific mandates as required by law. Trustees should not overreach in their duties - we must focus on the job we were elected to do and make sure that the teachers, staff, and administration are able to do the jobs their were hired for.
